CHAPTER I
More than a folder
All the things that matter. None of the noise.
Dogs leave their lives across phones, drawers, vet emails and family conversations. Dogument is being designed to bring the important parts into a private, dated file the owner keeps in control.

The Life File
One dog.
One beautiful record.
A Dogument is not a claim to official status. It is the owner’s private record: clear about where each item came from, dated when it was added, and designed to remain useful as life moves on.
Who she is
Portraits, distinguishing details, microchip reference and the ordinary facts that make your dog recognisable as herself.
Her story & evidence
Your dated acquisition and care history, with customer-supplied documents kept together and labelled clearly by source.
Everyday life
The routines, comforts, food, handling and small preferences another trusted person needs to know.
Her people
The people around your dog: owner-approved contacts, vet details and the practical Care Circle you choose.
When life changes
A private place for emergency notes and practical future-care wishes—written down, reviewed and clearly non-legal.
Keep it current
Dated updates, a review rhythm and a physical Life Book under consideration, so the file stays useful rather than forgotten.
CHAPTER II
How it is intended to work
Start with the dog you know. Keep the file alive.
Gather
Begin with the portrait, details, documents and care history you already have. Every important item is marked clearly by source.
Arrange
Turn the practical facts and the human details into a calm record: for the owner, the household and the people they trust.
Review
Update the file as a dog’s life changes. The value is not storing more; it is keeping the right things ready.
The planned physical layer
Her collar tag. Her file. Kept apart for privacy.
A small object with a serious job.
Dogument is developing a durable name-and-address collar tag and ID card as the tangible beginning of the Life File. The final specification, fulfilment, data fields and all customer wording will be published only after product and legal review.
Privacy by design
Any future QR or finder route is intended to show only the minimum owner-approved information. It should never expose a home address, the full file or private care information to a stranger.
Useful on ordinary days too
Care and future wishes belong inside the Life File — not above it.
The same private file should help with a weekend sitter, a sudden hospital stay or the longer planning none of us enjoy putting off. The First 24 is being shaped as a shorter, owner-entered plan for the first difficult hours.

Food, routine, comfort, handling and the useful details another person needs on an ordinary day.
First 24
A deliberately short, owner-entered plan for the first hours: the first carer, key dog-care facts and the next practical step when life changes suddenly.
Care Circle
The primary and backup people an owner chooses to ask, with a practical status that can be reviewed as life changes.
Personal Letter
The owner’s own words about the character, comforts and little things that make their dog herself.
Future Care Wishes
A structured place for current practical wishes if an owner is temporarily or permanently unavailable.
Founder research in progress. These are working layers under test. Dogument does not currently alert police, councils, rescues or a Care Circle; it is not a legal, medical, rescue or emergency-response service.
The quiet identity layer
Keep the nose scan. Put it in its proper place.
The nose scan stays as an optional future identity reference and a strong Dogument story. It remains under controlled supplier testing and is not the core customer promise. It cannot prove ownership, replace a microchip, open private records or guarantee a missing dog will be found.

A membership must earn its place
A Life File is only useful if it stays alive.
Dogument Live is the working name for the annual membership we are testing. It must give an owner a clear reason to return, not simply charge them to keep a document in a vault.

Dogument is a private, owner-controlled dog Life File. It is not an official registry, proof of legal ownership, a microchip replacement, a veterinary or insurance service, a will, legal appointment, emergency-response service, police-reporting service or guarantee of recovery, rescue placement or future care.
CHAPTER III
The physical Life Book
Some things deserve to exist beyond a screen.
A printed Life Book and portrait can turn a private file into a useful object for the home: a dated snapshot of a dog’s story, details and care notes. It is being developed as a future physical companion to the live record—not as an official certificate or travel document.

Dogument was founded and is owned equally by Edward Coutts Davidson and Hayli Allen. Freddie—Hayli’s dachshund and Dogument dog DG 0001—is the face of the brand and the reason the experience must work in real life, not just on paper.
